Mid 1800's Park Finds
Hey everyone what's up. Got about 6 hrs to hunt over the weekend. Weather has been o.k. High forties to mid 50's. Me and my brother were working a old hunted out park so they say. I'm not gonna lie it takes pure skill and top technology to pull old coins from this spot. It is very trashy and the coin finds are really deep.
Got about 9.00 in clad. 1 1906 indian. 6 wheaties one is a 1916 D. And a 39 nickle. I found a barber dime today at about 7.5 inches about 5 ft off a huge tree. I thought when it came up how many coils been over this one but they just didn't have the capability to hit it that deep or didn't have the skill. It was in really bad shape. Super black with a very thick grey coat of oxidation on it. Needed to buff it with a polish just to get it to come back. The back is still rough on the coin.
It's slow but it does produce. You can find gold and silver rings here also along with some old deep relics. Ground is very rich and black so I can hit coins deep in this spot. Also they get really deep in soils like this.
Anyone have any idea what the white smashed lead thing is in pic number 2. It says P.Co on the front. On the back it has the number 67 on it in the middle. I really like the hand pin I found and the star button. Also found some kind of blank token in the 3rd pic and a small buckle type of thing pat'd date jan 25 1925.
Wife is off work for the next week so gonna try and get out everyday to end the season here soon unless things stay mild this winter.
Thanks for looking
