I got out to sweat a little in the heat yesterday. The property is my girlfriend's family's
and dates back to the late 1800's when it began operation as a pecan/walnut plantation. There is a lot of history and I came across a heaping pile of stuff but only one thing really struck me as very interesting. I found this porcelain Mickey Mouse pin that I cannot seem to date or find any other information on. The front is pie-eyed Mickey etched in and inked black. The back of the pin is heavily crusted over and I don't plan on cleaning it until I find out some sort of potential value. Even then I don't anticipate scraping off the gunk. I know that a lot Mickey Mouse stuff is highly collectible and I cannot seem to find this anywhere. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Must be worth something.

Disney stuff is very collectable is all i know.. Not sure what it is but hope you get the information your looking for..

I've been searching the WWW under "Vintage" pins & looking @ images. Haven't found anything like your pin yet, but it does look old based on my thoughts...Mickey had a different look then than he does nowadays. Seems he was "thinner", his snout a little longer, to me it's like back in the days of his "Steamboat Willie" looks. You got what I mean? Hopefully, someone will tune in & help you more.

We really can't tell the age of the pin/brooch by Mickey's pic because it could be a reproduction of an older picture of Mickey. Most of the time, the age of the brooch can be determined by the 'catch' on the back.

As far as your Mickey is concerned, Mickey received pupils in his eyes in 1940 during the movie Fantasia, where he played the Sorcerer's Apprentice; therefore, your Mickey's picture is representative 'before' 1940.
Neat find :)

Love your find! I dug up a couple brass pieces that had Mickey Mouse on it and also the walt Disney building.Maybe someday post them up on ebay or something! For now I'm just hanging on to my gifts from the ground!

Any catch on the back has unfortunately been broken off :( the majority of the items found near Mickey are dated to pre 1940. I have sent a couple of emails to some experts and will fill everyone in when I hear back. Hopefully soon! Thanks for all the input!

that is one awesome find..as you will see. they're are a lot of experts here on t-net.

Never thought I'd be interested in seeing Mickey for the fact that I have two small kids who watch clubhouse religiously, however that is a really neat find! Congrats on the vintage Mickey.
