My sister is visiting from out of state and wanted some practice with her new (first) metal detector. We tried a yard of an early 1900s house down the street from our parent’s house that I have permission for, but never hunted. I really expected more silver and older coins in this yard, but my oldest coin was only 1930 and my sister’s was 1919, both pennies. My favorite find was the Gibson Girls sash buckle.
I reunited her with some of her siblings that I have found in the past
One of my first targets was this lead Mickey Mouse from the 1930s or 40s. From the ones I've seen on line he is missing one arm that was waving with the gloved hand.
I found one of those aluminum tokens you could personalize. They had a machine in the arcade at the local amusement park (Idlewild Park) that made these things. I have no idea who John C was It says Good Luck on the back, but it didn't work for me
Lots of modern coins, but only one silver....
I prefer to hunt for much earlier stuff, but this was good practice for my sister.
