In the previously detected yard again.
My third year in the hobby and I’d say this might be my best find yet. 1848 large cent.
My previous oldest coin was a 1882 Indian cent that I found in my yard last year.
And some more today find’s, wheat’s plus a White House token.

It looks like there is damage to the letter E in cent. Random damage or some ornery kid trying to change the E to another letter?🤔 I’ve seen that done before.
Inspecting it under a scope I am confident it is random damage.
On a second note the homeowners asked if they can have the coin. But refuse to not pay for it. It’s hard to let go but I plan on bringing it back.

Very Cool!!! Congrats!!!

That’s a tough one to give up. I believe in karma. I’d give them the coin and charge them $1. Something good will come to you later.

Very nice finds Congrats on the Large cent

Awesome... they don't come out of the dirt in better shape than that very often..
I'd throw some wax on that bad boy
