Gold, First gold!! Been cold and the ground is pretty much froze, so the beaches are the best chance to dig. Went to a small beach the other day and all the beach was to close to the water line, and the sand was already froze, went home, mad, thinking that was it till spring:BangHead: Well it has been mild (35-40) the last couple days, with rain coming tomorrow, then sub zero this weekend:sadsmiley: I had to try once more! So I hit a large, older beach, that has at least 50 yards of sand/dunes to the water that never get wet, except for rain and snow, and stayed in the dune area that was there in the 1970's Bang!! what are the odds of finding your first gold, on what will surely be the last hunt till Spring. Any idea what it is? Clasp opens and closes still. Pocket watch chain? Also found 1941 Wheat, an Arcade token jack knife, ....... So glad I went.............and dressed warm 101_7087.JPG101_7089.JPG101_7090.JPG101_7091.JPG101_7092.JPG101_7088.JPG

Congrats on gold for your end of season!

Had lots of layers, plus Carhart bibs. Going to be 50 tomorrow, going back, minus one layer of clothes

Looks like Mother Nature is giving us today (50 degrees) and tomarrow 45 degrees, then down in the 20's. Its coming to an end, but until the sand is froze, or covered with snow, I'll keep fighting off the long months of no hunting, that are so close!
