After Whydah went home - I went to another resort
after checking in - un packing and rushing down to hunt sunset
As I passed the pool heading to the beach - I was approached by a gentlemen who was pointing at me to his wife
He stopped me asking "Does that find rings?" ....
"Can you find my wife's wedding band?"
I said "Yes i can"
He said "You're a God send"
We walked down to the beach and I asked him what it looks like - it matched his
I asked was it in the dry sand - wet sand - or water
Then I asked him where abouts he thought it was
It was lost 3 days before - he had been going thru the surrounding sands trying to find it with his hands
Luckily they had sat in the same area and some of the same people were in the same spot when they lost it and were
still sitting in the same spot
They were married here 10 yrs ago and decided to put their rings in the wet sand and make hand prints and get a pic
He picked up his ring and got up and helped her up thinking she had grabbed her ring - she thought he had grabbed then both
they walked away and she held her hand out for her ring - He did not have it - they rushed back but the water had come up and the ring was gone
they frantically searched to no avail - he had searched every day before i arrived - they had given up and he had called the jeweler to find out how much it would cost to
have another made - the jeweler told him $1500
So he told me that it had to be between this area and about 10 yards - but it could have been sucked into the ocean - which i told him would not be a problem
I told my girlfriend to grab her camera and maybe try and get a video - by the time she got the camera - it was too late
I had walked about 5 feet and got a great signal - click to ID mode and got high tone on my CZ21 and said
"could it be this easy? - this might be it!" It was !
Fastest find and return I ever made
Guy was in shock and gave me a big hug - he could not believe it - He said they thought they would be leaving in a few days - flying over and looking down and
knowing that her ring was left behind down below.
My gal went and hung out with them while I jumped in and continued hunting
He surprised his wife by getting a glass of champagne and putting it in it and bringing it to her at the pool - she did not notice it at first but was surprised when she saw it
We had dinner together and the next couple of days my gal hung with them and every time he saw me head out he would wish me luck
we swapped emails and mailing addys and will be in touch
2nd pic is of ring back where it belongs
