Meteorite???

last weekend I found a smooth black triangular shaped almost like a flat pyramide looking stone which is magnetic.

I found this one in germany I should say on the river Ahr.DSCN1861.JPG

How can I find out if this is a meteorite?

Determine if any university or museum near you has the capability of identifying meteorites. Take the rock to them.

Posting images of the item here can help, but primarily in determining if it is not a meteorite. This is because many terrestrial rocks have characteristics that are similar to meteorites.

Go on line and look at examples of what a lot of meteorites look like and have in common
They have little craters and are not usually smooth.
 

Looks like it could be one to me as it looks to have fusion crust. Nice find!
 

Get very good magnifier, look for melting signs, bubbles, folds on surface, cut in half ,put mild acid on cut.nitric but you can use other things,most all iron meteorites are iron and nickel, made in space it takes extreme time to cool,iron and nickel separate to a high degree, so , after apply acid the crystal pattern shows up, you can see the separation , only space iron shows it , google it
