I found this in a soccer field complex. It was 8 inches deep and registered 90 on my AT PRO. It's non-magnetic. Some though it may be slag or melted aluminum. It weights 3 oz. and 1 1/2 inches across.

There are no railroad tracks nearby. Could it be a gift from heaven? DSC_3797.jpgDSC_3794.jpgDSC_3792.jpg
I had it posted in the What Is It Forum and one advised me to post it here where the experts can see it and

Not a meteorite. Sorry.

Agree with Terry: not a meteorite. Not heavy enough: most meteorites are basically stainless steel.

An interesting piece, though. Appears to have been melted intentionally. Was this perhaps found near a railroad track? Somewhat similar to an aluminum-iron blob created during thermite welding: used to join railroad tracks together. I can see flow lines on one side.

Meteorites can have flow lines caused by ablation: the tumbling of the stone while in the atmosphere, often at supersonic speeds. These usually create "thumbprints" or circular hollows on the surface. Similar to putting thumbprints on the surface of a blob of clay.
