metallic coal?

Hi all been out detectoring on the beach and every so often i find these coal chunks in the sand that set the metal detector off, anyone know what kinda metal is formed with coal? tammahawk

Hot Ground - Severely mineralized ground that produces many false signals as it is swept. Coal cinders and iron-laden slag soil are but two examples of 'hot ground'. Thats about all I could find on the subject.
