Hello I found this metal tag while metal detecting a farm field. It gave a great signal and I'm thinking it is aluminum. Any idea what it is? I tried searching the number online and all I got was sears camping gear part #?

I don't know haha what would it be used for on a tent? The number could just be a coincidence I was thinking maybe something for the telephone company?

Could always take it to a sears store and ask them. .. might rule in or rule out that possibility.

I think it is from an item sold at Sears.

The first three digits in Sears' part numbers notes the manufacture of the item. For instance, if the number was 113.197751, you know it would have been made by Emerson Electric for Sears. You would also learn that it was a radial arm saw from the last digits.

He already rebuked that idea, Clovis .. but the number does exactly correspond to a Sear's Cabin Tent, and was probably affixed to the bag strap or a tent strap.

I was only confirming that I agree that it is a Sears tag. Not everyone knows that Sears had a coding system for each of their manufacturers.

My dad had a Sears canvas cabin tent, and that tag looks so familiar, but I cannot place where it was on the tent.

I'll try to be more careful with my wording in the future. My apologies to you for my earlier post. Would you like for me to edit it or delete it?? I feel like the only rebuking is from you about my post.

No Sir .. I wasn't scorning you in any way, Clovis .. nothing at all wrong with your post or its wording. I think we both concur that it is a Sears number .. I was just saying (based on the OP's post) that the notion might be a hard sell.
Thank you for the confirmation.
