Went to check out what was left of an old ghost town. wasnt much there except some concrete slabs. Found this in the dirt. It is strongly ferrous, appears to oxidize green rather than rust, is relatively heavy for its size (8.98g)
And has a peculiur structure to it. I googled for about an hour, and I am completely stumped.

Looks cool nice find, appears to be copper to me .

It looks like the opposite side of dropped, molten ore. Is the top flat?

first and third pic are of the top, 2nd pic is of the bottom. it sticks strongly to a magnet, color is grayer than silver, brighter than lead. some form of stainless steel ? I see no rust, only the odd green oxidation.

Yeah thats strange, Heavily magnetic with green oxidation ? Not solid Copper, maybe molten slag like mentioned above with some slight copper content?

I dont know if it helps any, but i found it east of Mazatzal Peak about 30-40 minutes north of the Superstition Mountains in Arizona. There was a small town there at one time.

Took it to my scrap silver/gold guy today.. it is..
83%cobalt 11%chromium 6% molybdenum. 2nd reading on the bottom was 97% cobalt

Wow thanks for the update , I never would have guessed that. The chromium might explain the green coloring.

it appears it is purer towards the base (away from the green parts) his theory was it was something sitting on the ground that was struck by lightning. i didnt know cobalt would stick to a magnet
