Metal Object from Space Hits NJ House!!!

dugfind, you wouldn't want it to hit your house.
That rock is gonna cost them about $500.00 (depending on what their deductible is)

20 to 50 such objects fall globally per day? Wow...imagine how many there are laying about.
MD'ers find em some times.

Where I live I saw an area in the ground where it looked like a really large object fell into the ground. It looked as if it went in at an angle.

I wish I had a MD at the time. Now the area is over grown with tall wild grass and I can't even begin to remember where I saw it...though, I suppose I could start looking in the spring.

Anyway if the Federal Aviation Administration took it along with them to study, I wonder if the homeowner will even get it back ???

Why does an analysis have to be done? There are people who are not scientists but who could tell if this thing was or was not a meteorite, and for a lot less taxpayers' money.

Why did authorities take it away? Don't they know a meteorite when they see one? What else could it be? Aliens playing ball and the ball got away from them? Not likely!

I bet the homeowner never sees the thing again. So he can't make back his homowner's insurance deductible by selling the darn thing.

Lesson to be learned: If a space rock crashes through your roof and lodges in the wall of your house, don't notify the police. Wait for the thing to cool off, take photos of it in situ and then call the guys who buy meteorites and let them engage in a bidding war over it.

No joke. They probably could have made a pretty penny on it too. I guess it's not all that bad b/c sometimes those things are radio active. Don't need that crap floating round in my house!
