[h=3]A metal detectorist has discovered an axe from the Bronze Age in a field in Rugby.
[/h]Andy, who lives in Rugby and works as a self-employed ground worker, found the interesting item in a field near Clifton while out metal detecting. He did not wish to specify the exact location in which he found the axe.

its a nice one too is it middle bronze age

Did you by any chance ask him if he noticed what direction it was pointing before he dug it up? Many times treasures were hidden and marked with axe head in the split of a tree or buried pointing at the location of that treasure. Might be worth following up on!!!
