A collection of rusty bullets, belt buckles, buttons, coins and pieces of glass rested in boxes with clear tops, on display in the Killeen Civic and Conference Center this weekend.
"Each piece has a story behind it," said Terry Smith, of Longview, staring at a quarter of his 20,000-piece collection of found treasure. The boxes took up six tables.
Smith converged with several other treasure hunters at the center over the weekend for the Texas Council of Treasures Hunters' 23rd annual Treasure Show.
