Looking to buy a new detector for x-mas. I would like to hear your likes and dislikes on the 3 I have narrowed it down to. This will be my first detector in this price range. I have an old bounty hunter that I have been working with. I know in the end it is up to me but I would like to hear from some of the pros on here. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Minelab X-Terra 505
Fisher F70 metal
Garrett AT Gold

I will be hunting parks, old sites, schools and a few streams. I want to look for coins, relics, rings maybe some gold when i find a good place. For the most part coins.

Since you are looking for mainly coins and things like that I would go with a whites mxt. I don't have much experience with the fisher but I hear they are good. With the minelab, I personally didn't care for it. I didn't like the way it felt in my hand. I also didn't like the is system on it. But then again I am a whites guy. The mxt is a machine you can relic hunt, coin hunt, and prospect with. In my opinion that would be your best bet.

Thank you. I will look into some info on one and com-pair.

I would look into adding the F-5 to the list as well as maybe the Teknetics omaga in that price range. Honestly, sounds crazy but you'll be amazed at what the 11"dd Fisher f-2 f-4 coil (push in plug) will do for your Bounty hunter 202 detector.

if you have a BH Tracker IV I would stay with that. Mine paid for its self in clad in a few months...

I would go for a pre-owned E-Trac for about the same money....Great machine
