Hey all. I was really excited to get out this year with my brother Farscape. I fired up the trusty Garrett and it is going bananas. The meter is going back and forth super super fast. I thought since i left some batteries in it it might have drained them or something. I put new ones in and the problem persists.

I bought it like 4-5 years ago so it is not under any warranty or anything.

Does anyone have any experience sending a Garrett in for service? I talked to someone at Kellyco where I bought it and they told me they don't repair, which is fine but I guess that only leaves sending it in to the factory.

Would/Could/Should it cost a lot? Would I be better scrapping it and trying to buy a new one?

Any ideas or experience would be great.

Thanks. :)

Thanks a lot. No, I opened up a live chat session and the lady just told me that they don't do repairs. Ah well no biggie, the prices on that site you gave me seem reasonable. Thanks.

Try holding the power button for 5 or 6 seconds and see if it beeps. I know that resets the ace 250 to factory presets.

A special note about detector operational settings. Any changes that have been made will be
retained when the detector is turned off. These changes will remain until changed by the
operator or until the detector is returned to the factory default settings by pressing and holding
the POWER Touchpad.

in my opinion,
the most simple answer is
Call Garrett. a few Years ago I Needed a part for an old
Garrett. They sent me it.

I see no reason they can't repair it.

Talked to Keith at Brokendetector the other day.
He is very Backed up right now.
