Coke? Not a old bottle, since they say Coca Cola. Or is there something I'm missing?

Cooperhead Cola

I saw the snake before the bottle. Always look and listen before your reach.

Made me jump! They are still moving here in the south.....I posted because I want people to be aware of them!

time to release the .45

Thankfully, no poisonous snakes in my part of Minnesota. Too cold for them.

Man, I did not see the copperhead at first.

We don't have them here is south Jersey, thank God. No poisonous snakes here. But in some parts of Jersey there are rattlers. Got enough to worry about with the chiggers and ticks.

Thanks for the warning. I may run up there after supper but I will hunt up on the cleared end. Did you let it go?

Wow...just sitting there waiting for someone to reach down for the bottle!

Mr. Copperhead can have the bottle! I think I will add a machete to my belt loop....Come on winter, looking forward for the snakes, mosquito's, gnats, spiders and other critters go away for awhile. I am constantly aware of my surroundings, especially snakes, always looking ahead and keeping the search coil in front, if you know what i mean!

Lol he was looking for a free meal laying there. Problay waiting on a frog to eat the bugs in the bottle.

I saw the nasty sucker right away too. Three years ago in November. I was blowing leaves out of the yard and the leaf pile got too high around the stacked wood pile and couldn't blow them any further. I took my foot and pushed the leaves apart so I could finish blowing the leaves. When I pushed the leaves with my foot....ZAP! Dang copperhead nailed me on the foot. Treated by a Dr. and he said because of the time of year he didn't get me too bad. To this day, I still have a purple spot on my foot. He was about the same size as the one in your picture.
SHOOT THAT SUCKER!!

Hey Alldugup, sorry to hear about your copperhead experience, hope you are okay. Thanks for sharing that info. I will pay more attention when I leaf blow around my woodpile. What exactly do you mean "because of the time of the year, he didn't get you too bad" ?? Just curious.

According to the Dr., because the temperature was cool they are not aggressive this time of year and didn't put a full load in me????? (witch Dr. ???) He said I probably stepped on it and he just hit me hard enough to get off. It worked!

Funny thing is as I'm reading this I have my 4 1/2 ft. corn snake all cuddled up around my neck.
He's a lover, not a biter.
