Hello everyone,

Today I'm gonna be detecting on Venice beach in Florida. I was wondering if there were any special techniques I should use on that beach or if anyone had some good tips for me. This will be my second time beach detecting. I was also wondering if anyone had found treasures there or in the south west florida area.
Thanks,
August

Ps I'm using a bounty hunter first Texas pilot metal detector.

Can't offer techniques without knowing what detector or digger you are using.

I hunt venice beaches every year. The sand is reclamation sand pumped in after several storms. Never found much. I've hunted casperson up to nokomis. Lots of sparkler wires etc. Some jewelry though. Iuse a pi machine so have to dig all. Good luck. Have a beer at sharkys...

I was teased by the detecting gods on my trip to Venice. A recent storm had caused a subsurface cut to hardpan. I had JUST found it and pulled a WW2 50 cal casing when it started to lightning and they ran everyone off the beach. The next day the cut was gone. Of course, you need a water detector for that.

There was an army base there WWII. I was on a nice cut today from a storm last night. Found some change and about 25 bottle caps. They were all fairly deep. No real goodies.
