Metal Detecting In Quabbin???

i need to know if you can go metal detecting in quabbin reservoir in Massachussets. I would think so but i really dont know since now most of it is blocked from entry of cars, u can still walk around but i dont know if you can use a metal detector there due to its historical importance. Thx to anyone who replies

Im in Ma also, what town are you in! As for detecting the quabin, im still not sure, i tried researching it and i think i saw a site that said its prohibited in some parts, due to "contaminating water"? Doesnt make sense but maybe its allowed, maybe someone esle knows

I was on the mass state web site and found that all areas of the Quabbin are off limits to MDing. I thought the old town center of dana mass would be a good spot. No can do.

quabbin's been off limits for md'ing for years now, i remember getting kicked out of there in the early 90s for it. (oops) i was pretty much fed the "state property, watershed, wildlife area blabla"
