The beads I found without a metal detector nice though still don't know what there are. DSCN0173.JPGDSCN0174.JPGDSCN0175.JPGDSCN0176.JPGDSCN0177.JPGDSCN0178.JPGDSCN0179.JPGDSCN0180.JPGDSCN0181.JPGDSCN0182.JPG:icon_scratch:

In my opinion... I would not say this is a hood ornament...
More like a...
Lamp finial ?

why?...WHY do we find all those lamp finials!? What the heck is going on?...."oh, I just think I will unscrew this lamp finial and toss it in the woods!" There must be a new one EVERY week!

How funny.

The same question about seeing single shoes on the side of the highway, there are hundreds of them.

what gets me is gold coins and any silver for that matter. when I was a kid if I dropped a nickel I would have stayed until next week to find it...we always had enough to eat but spare gold coins were not something we had a lot of!

Kind of looks like an on and off valve handle for a Victorian gas stove/heater/lamp. Bone beads from the looks of them, and the brass bead could date back a ways, even be a trade bead,
except trade beads had large holes for stringing, more modern beads have small holes for stringing on wire etc.

I looked at the picture wrong and thought this piece was twice as big as it actually is. So, I don't think it is from a fireplace tool. I now think that it is some type of finial be it for a lamp or curtain rod or something else.

Then AARC is as close as it can be to being solved without an exact match IMO.

I might add... USA...
Your beads are bone and the other bead is base metal...
the are probably from a leather...OR wax linen beaded necklace of some sorts and are not old at all.
In my opinion... they look like they are from the old "Fimo Clay" necklace type of necklace.
