I notice that you are in North Carolina. The larger button has some similarity to a North Carolina sunburst button, but I have not seen one with the star in the middle rather than the letters NC. And the sunburst (or starburst) pattern is a little different. Please post pictures of the backs and include a coin for size comparison. This will help determine age.

Thank you, I've added a few more pictures of the back of the button and beside of coins for reference

The small of your button looks to possibly be a blazer or 1920's a school button.
The larger of your buttons is older, late 1800's and was likely a coat button.
