metal arrow type thing

i got this out of a field that has been turn up some 1786 coppers
there is no mounting hole that i can see
any ideas

Looks to be broken at the mount on the one end, is it made of brass?
Could be furniture related.

i think it's pewter it came up the same as a tombac button
the end with the knock is not broken and it only has one hole in the point end to small for a nail and off center to far to be a necklace hole unless it was to hang at a strange angle

I think Broken Knee got it. It broke at the mounting hole. Maybe even a buttplate tang.
