Met another MD'er today

I went to a local park today, been there a couple times before & usually find $2-3 in clad. I wear 'phones, so I kind of like to keep one eye on my surroundings. Noticed a truck driving around, made a U-turn, then parked across the street. A few minutes later, I look-up & see a guy about 25 yards away walking towards me with a MD slung over his shoulder. I shut mine off, pulled my 'phones off & we kinda looked at each other & laughed.

We talked for about 15 minutes....nice guy. Said he was here visiting his kids & saw the park & wanted to check it out. Said he was from an area aroung Youngstown Ohio, & belonged to a MD club there. lol, said he was suprised to see someone else at the park with a MD.

I asked if he had the internet, because I was going to tell him about T-net, but said he didn't have a 'puter. We both went to detecting, BTW he was carrying a Whites, probably a couple hours passed, he headed back my direction, so again I stopped to talk with him. He found alittle clad, and said he found a '46 wheat.

Thought it was pretty neat to run into someone else out enjoying the day.....the MD way ;)

Re: Met another MD'er today

Fellow Th'ers are very friendly people and love to talk about the hobby. However I had one guy that was leaving his holes uncovered at a park and told me were to go when I showed him how to retrieve the coin without making large holes. He was not a likeable fellow. :(

Unfortunately they are out there. I ran into two MDers on my local beach. The first guy Neal acknowledged me and even came over to talk. Sometimes I do have to tell him my time is limited or he would talk your ear off. The other guy wouldn't even acknowledge either of us, did his business and left. However, he did fill his holes. As they say, you meet all kinds in this hobby.
