Finally made some time to get to the creek this morning for the first time since September! Wasn't sure what the conditions were going to be and if everything was going to be covered in leaves. Visibility wasn't too bad and most of the rock bars were pretty free of debris.

I think baby Jesus was looking over me though because this is what he gave me on this Christmas Eve! :)

This is the second monster point that I have found in this creek in the last 6 months. Any suggestions on the point type? I'm in southern Illinois. The closest thing I can find on projectilepoints.net is Apple Creek but I am really bad at typing points..

Merry Christmas everyone!

A stunner! Beautifully creek stained! Congrats!

Etley- Late Archaic 4000-2000 BP Nice big example with lovely creek staining, I`d be hunting that creek after every heavy rain that caused some flooding.

That is a beautiful point. Thanks for sharing on the Christmas Eve. It gives us all something to wish for the holidays..lol Congrats

Day maker real nice find .

That's a year maker for me! I was just talking with my wife about how fortunate I am to have access to such an awesome spot. I have friends who have hunted way longer than me and haven't ever found points that big!

Wow Nice find! WTG, Etley like Rege-PA said was what I was thanking.

That's an amazing save especially with the staining on the point and those leaves camouflaging it. Awesome!

Great find! Congratulations!

Good God what a monster. Beautiful creek stain on that one was probably white before it got lost in the creek.

Nice find ..... And to think how long it's been tumbling Around in the creek with all those other rocks to still be intact ..... Awesome save
