I dug this ring at a old home site a couple days ago. It’s stamped sterling and has onyx stone, gold plating on the sides, and a 10k gold inlay of a Phoenix with a sun at its beak over an 8 pointed star. I can’t find that symbol anywhere. Any ideas? Taking it to a jeweler tomorrow as I can’t make out any marks other than “STERLING” followed by “10k” followed by “G” then unknown symbol, then a tiny faint bird symbol, another unknown symbol and finally what appears to be the remains of a “7”. Any ideas? F072A0CE-ED50-4FE2-A20D-4890BE8A0F67.jpeg2698FA31-DFB2-4BB2-826C-2A26A1812C0B.jpeg

I would guess the ring is 9.25 and the top portion is gold ring size 7 cool find

Some of the Mexican jewelry makers use this motif of gold over silver "vermeil". Both the sun and the phoenix are southwestern symbols but the eight pointed star is a puzzle. The only group I know of that used star symbols to identify their deities is the ancient Sumerians. Sometimes their images are used in organizational or ceremonious jewelry. It's in great condition, nice find.
