Men's or Ladies Ring?

Can anyone tell me if a man or a woman might have worn this ring? :icon_scratch:
Any thoughts on what period or year this piece dates from as well would be appreciated.

I've also included a picture of the ring with a new stone I set into it, the original shell setting had totally disintegrated! At least now it can be worn again and enjoyed.

Thanks,
Dave

Looks like a woman's ring to me.

Any markings on the inside? Gold? brass? Where found?

Thanks very much for your post and your input Joe! :occasion14:

I found this on a former WWII Canadian military training site. It was about 6" down and is made of brass. There are no markings of any kind in the band. I was kind of hoping to wear it myself but the consensus seems to be that it's a ladies ring. It's a size 9.5 which is pretty large for a ladies finger of 100 years ago, that's what made me think it might have belonged to a man. :icon_scratch:
