Meme's popcorn
My grandma, Meme, always passed out bags of popcorn to trick or treaters on Halloween. She always made the best popcorn, but when asked what she used....she always said "Just butter and salt".....which drove my mom and my aunt crazy, because, they used butter and salt and their popcorn didn't taste nearly as good as Meme's. Finally they watched her make it one day and discovered her secret. In fact, it was the secret to alot of her fantastic recipes. BROWN THE BUTTER!
Air pop some popcorn
Melt REAL butter in a pan....Don't use unsalted butter....but instead of just melting it, keep it on the heat until the butter starts to brown. Keep mixing and scraping the bottom of the pan. Usually when the foam on top dissappears, it's ready. Be very careful not to burn it. There's a fine line between browning it and burning it!
Mix the browned butter into the popcorn and add salt......or to make it even better, add Parmesan cheese and Lowry's seasoned salt. Just the cheap Parmesan cheese works best, the kind with a flip top, clear container.
Simple but good!
