What is the most effiecent way to melt copper? Something that cost 500 or less.

Scrap yards usually wont take lumps / ingots of metal because they cant see inside.
This is a common question asked by thieves to disguise their haul.

I'm not looking to bring it to a scrap yard. Just want to melt it.

Go to Instructables.com and search for "melting metals" .
Here u will find how to make a waste oil fired furnace costing nothing.
Also it's a neat tie in to scrapping as the waste oil is from cars prior to crushing at the scrap yard.
