Melt it

Your getting into all kinds of different stuff there.....what kind of rock? How big? Then depending on if it can be melted with acid? Is the acid harmful to area etc....Cost versus what your going to get...etc...

I have no clue! I can't imagine anything I could find at a thrift store that I would need explosives for!!!:icon_scratch:

Welcome to the site!!

Well, I can't help but think he/she is talking about using acid(s) in place of explosives in a mining operation. However, I have no idea what kind of "sled" they may be referring to. So let me say this:

Yes, there are acids out there that can eat rock. There are other acids that can eat metal, including silver, gold, copper, etc. (not the same acid!) Acids are used in the refining process - not the mining process. I've never heard of a modern operation that actually dissolves the rock. Instead, the rock (ore) is crushed and the metal is leeched from the crumbled rock/dust. This is NOT as operation for a beginner!!

That said, I have to wonder why this was posted in the Thrift Stores section?? :dontknow:
