Yesterday's hunt produced three more hammered silver coins. A broken Eddie penny, an Elizabeth I three pence 1575. Best of the hammered was a scarce Edward I, half penny of the Berwick on tweed mint. The session ended well, with a 13th century lead personal seal matrix. No idea what the seal say's, still a great find. Robert.

Thanks trapperart, the season though is drawing to a close:sadsmiley:. Soon it will be coin shooting, in woods, parks and pasture fields. Ready for a break to be honest, been putting a lot of hours in , saving all those hammered.

Thanks for sharing! Your finds are so old!!! I love the seal! It would be hard to take a break finding such items. I bet you put in the time:)

That Eddy is a goodie.

Seals are always a pleasure to dig.

Awesome seal and silvers robfinds  I'm always amazed at how old the stuff is that you guys dig over there.

Great find on the seal Robert - love those early oval ones. Nice selection of hammereds too. Looks like you're rollin' again .....

Rob, I wish I could comment more on your finds, but thay are way out of my league. I sure would like to share a field with you someday.

These hammereds still show up regulary! With the season ending soon i bet they will be still there after harvest. :occasion14:

This field is really killer. Looks like the string of hammereds will never end. I would keep it for a rainy day. Everytime when you're a bit disappointed of other sites you can go over there and dig a little silver! :laughing9:

Hello Westfront, it's not just one field, it's several very good medieval sites. I have only known one single field site, that 20 years ago was prolific for hammered. When I say prolific, I mean prolific, a late Saxon Norman market site in Lincolnshire. Best result on it, 13 hammered in one afternoon, four of them cut Saxon.
