Amazing piece of history. Nice find!
 

I've seen a few medieval crucifixes from your part of the world and believe them to be quite common. Remember nearly everyone back then, even the peasants, would have owned one. Lead was cheap and could be used to crank these out in seconds, yours was likely owned by a commoner - then one day while he was toiling in the fields he lost it. Pretty amazing that this was owned by one of our distant ancestors close to 1,000 years ago before the age of enlightenment and scientific reasoning.

Could be right, I see a 'shell' used on the end of one cross, a common symbol of badges & ampulla.

To the OP, I think uncommon is a more than fair assessment, congrats.
