Hello everyone! I posted this in the “what is it?” Forum but got no responses out of 141 views. Any help with an ID here would be greatly appreciated!

Fresh out of the tumbler. Found at an 1850-1910 site. The two pieces were clearly once one pice. However, I don’t know if this piece is meant to be folded or straight. The symbol looks to be the medical EMS symbol but that wasn’t created until the 1960’s according to a quick google search? Any ideas on this one team? TIA!

The construction of it looks like a sash buckle, but the 6 point star is puzzling. :icon_scratch:

Not a clue but I'll be checking back...
