This is a strange website to post this, but there are alot of big brains here and I'm not sure where to start. My cousin just turned 50 and started to have problems and ended up in the hospital and told her kidneys are Hardly working.
She is going to have to go to dialysis 3-5 days a week. As of now her insurance is only giving her the option of 2 places to receive the dialysis. If she goes elsewhere, insurance won't pay. Both places are 1 1/2 hours away . Dialysis will take 3 to 4 hours each day she goes. She don't drive, never has. Her husband has to work to pay the bills, her parents are disabled, the rest of us all got young kids and work, the amount of time involved isn't feasible for how many times a week we'd have to do it.
If she doesn't get it, she will die.. Is there any law or anything that would make it possible to twist the insurance companies arm and force them to allow her to receive treatment closer to home ? Or is their some sort of service for lower income families to receive transportation To treatments .. Or any other suggestions?
Thanks. Again, I apologize for this having zero to do with treasure hunting .
