I posted this under today's finds by accident.

I was hunting my brothers back yard the other day in central PA. His property was once the back yard of an early 1900's farm house that has since split up the property. Along with this I also recovered a 1929 wheatie, still looking for silver.

But, any info on the medallion thing would be greatly appreciated, I can't quite make out the letters, "LB" maybe. Seems to be made of copper if I'm not mistaking. It has some green patina on the back. I have not cleaned it yet and no makers hallmark that I can see.

Thanks and HH

not been ignoring you...just unable to find an example of that caligraphy or font.closest I could find was german gothic rennaisance style but this is evn more stylised.I appears to be an initial pendant which are still popular today.hopefully someone can date the lettering for you.very sweet find for sure.hang in there.

That's a gothic style capital "H" here's an example of a font type I use...

Sorry I have no more info on the medallion though... Hope this info will help a little further.

Thank you for the replies, I would have never thought that was an "h". Someone from the other thread I posted mentioned it Might be a pocket watch fob. I still trying to do some research on it. Now that I know it's an "h", I am going to do some research on who lived in the original farm house before the land was split.

I can do that as soon as I'm back home, I'm currently out of town. The back is kind of dirty, any cleaning methods recommended as no not scratch possible hallmarks? Soaking it in olive oil or something?
