Medallion of some sort?

Found today. Initially thought it was a large cent when it came out of the ground. About the same size. Upon some cleaning, it appears to be a medallion of some sort with a crest. Not lead but other than that not sure what it is made of.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Are you sure it's not lead? My initial impressions is that it is some kind of --if not lead-- base metal medal of England perhaps. Maybe late 1700s to early 1800s? Assuming it is large cent sized so probably too big to be a button. Too bad the reverse is so torn up

Yes, I am certain it is not lead. Will try cleaning it up a little more. The back is a mess but doesn't appear to have anything on it.

Looks like zinc or pot metal. Tony
