✅ SOLVED Medal?

Found this hunting a new property that was used as a CW hospital on a large farm. It was in a large clump and I thought it was a modern high impact rifle round. One of the property owners started to wash it and I was blown away that it had crossed cannons and an Eagle. I think there is a date on the back of 1888. I did not know what this medal could be used for. CW anniversary medal? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and happy hunting.

I found the medal by doing a google search. Its an 1888 Sons of Civil War Veterans medal. Pretty interesting.

Is a medal. S V stands for "Sons of Veterans". Great find. Congratulations. Can't read what it says around the S V. Could you let us know? Thanks for sharing.
