medal detector

I am new to the forum and would like to buy a medal detector, but i don't have any experience in this area. I am looking to spend around $700 to $800. Can anybody give me any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Do a lot of research. Mostly depends on where you are hunting and for what. White's, Minelab, Garrett, Tesoro, Fisher, all great machines.

Welcome to the hobby. It is addictive an the most fun you can have with your clothes on. There are many good machines out there and some cheap ones too that have trouble staying in tune. Visit the site Surfrat gives and check out the manufactures sites to learn all you can first. Many here will recommend their favorite brands which might not suit you. Study first.....

also make sure you get one with the right amount of features for you, i don't understand half the features of mine and at times it really frustrates me
