That's different, that 'homeowner has a sense of humor'.

Fossis............

It's a little odd. I don't really get it with the red logs and all. A hatched I could understand but a meat cleaver? Interesting though.

Maybe he felt that his tree got "butchered" during the last tornado....cool pic tho ....I like the house.....

Although I dont see any power lines in the picture...quite a few folks are mad at City Utilities for coming in their neighborhood and cutting down or trimming trees that pose a threat to their power lines... City utilities has become real active in this area....because of the last two icestorms that we have had...the red paint signifies blood....There has been quite a bit of publicity on this subject in Springfield...Steve

Maybe it's the Kite-Eating Tree and Charlie Brown finally got his revenge on it?

Hey that gives me an idea on a new log splitter, all i need is Paul Bunyon now. ;D

Yeah Hill Billy--Ole Paul and his cleaver--that would put Jason to shame :)

The clever has a hook and eye on top with a line running through it. Wonder what that's for? Monty

And I totally agree with the Ulitity co statement. It's happening here too. I've seen some stunning old growth trees just butchered. I'd rather see them come down totally than look at the sad topped out stubs.
