Went out this weekend hit a park after the fireworks . 2nd year in a row I have come up empty handed .standing room only to watch the fireworks(thousands)and no luck...go figure. A few hundred other hunters did really well.we have had so much rain here in Wisconsin ,the skeeters are unbearable. Heading out in a few minutes to another spot. Probably going to be another blood donation hunt . Taking the Deleon,if I stop to figure out the at pro,Ill get eaten alive.. sarah_arm_feed_web.jpg

one of the reasons I like to dig in 45 degree weather lol

Get some bug dope...I have been getting bit alot here in Michigan too lately. I started carrying some spf 85 sunscreen and a bottle of fly dope ( made for the black flies in Maine, works really well). Best two additions to my metal detecting bag since I bought my pinpointer :headbang:

I did a 4th of July park this year too. Nothing really to be found except about $3 of $4 in change. I have never really done that before so I decided to give it a shot this year to see what I was missing. I was surprised at how many people showed up looking for items they had lost. There were a couple people looking for phones and at least one person looking for a wallet.

Another good "potion" for the skeeters is 1 part Tea Tree Oil to 2 parts water. Excellent all natural repellent for the mosquitos and ticks.

Same here in Minnesota. Thought I'd covered myself, but they got me in my hair part, the nasty buggers.
