My son joined for a about half of my 3 hours of hunting today. His coins are the small pile along with the charm that says "it starts with heart". He is using my master hunter cx which is now my back up machine, and starting to get used to it. He is paying his dues and loves the hobby. Don't you love his teenage attitude in his picture? He is actually a really good kid and loves to go md'ing or head for the hills with his dad. Yes, he is the oldest of my 5 kids in jail in my avatar. I found the 2 wheaties in a short hunt in a yard. I only could hunt 45 minutes as they were going to have a family party in the yard. The owner was very nervous about the sprinkling system so I was only allowed to use my screwdriver. There were little roots running in every direction, so no matter how careful I tried to be I scratched the 1920-s. My trowel would have easily cut through the roots, but of course I respected her wishes. The other wheatie is a 42-s.

nice finds an beautiful wheats congrats on your hunt ;)

Nice finds, by the way, the look on your sons face, looks like he's about to say, just wait till I get my own detector dad, i'll give you a run for your money. LOL

Thanks for the great pics, HH, Ringfinder

Sweet wheat and nice finds. Yea, I had to build a room like your avatar for my kids too. Sure saves on baby sitting fees. :D

Looks like........will you just take the picture, Dad?......

Every family needs a room like that. They will think twice about using my detector without permission next time. How many kids do you have piggman?

I've got a boy and a girl, all grown now. Before I built the room, I would just hand cuff them to the loops on the fireplace. :D

Nothing better than quality time with Jr and kids.
Nice wheat backs.

Excellent thread UH!! I have a teenage son and his myspace pic is just like your boy's photo here, tough guys!! ;D

Very good finds. I just wish I started when was young.

My grandpa got me started when I was 14 back in 1984. I would ride to the school and houses on my ten speed with my detector draped over the handlebars. He died back in
December of 2000 but I think of him every time I detect. I also spent many weeks with my Grandpa all over central utah when I was a teen. He owned a rockshop in Richfield, so we went all over the deserts and to neat places that I have no clue how to get to anymore. I have been imparting that love of nature and treasure hunting to my kids, some will like enough to stick with and some won't, but they will all have the opportunity.
