MD'erStEvO & Becca's First Hunt in Itlay...

Good afternoon MD'ers!!!

My wife Becca came out with me to find some elusive treasures!!! She found most of the coins, and we need help in identifying the circular ball located in the picture. Keep in mind that we are located in Vicenza, Italy... We think it's a shrapnel ball due to size and coloring. My wife is officially addicted!!! Thanks for any and all help in this matter!!!

After further research, the bigger coin on the left is a 5 Centesemi, and the gentleman (Vittoria Emanuele II or III) has a goat-tee which means this coin is pre 1893!!! Depending on the mint mark and date, it could be worth as much as 50-500 dollars. Given its condition, probably not worth much, but don't wanna sell... It's my wife's first coin find ever!!! How do you say SCORE?!!!

Sorry to hear that.... A lot of people feel that way about detecting (it's a gay sport, or it's for nerds), but as far as your wife goes, just ask her to hang out with ya for family time.... That's how my wife found a passion for this hobby!!!
