oh yea! It probably is seeing its leather with copper plating. Most likely an older engine gasket. Thanks for the idea.

Hi Jake that would be a Mc CORD gasket fo a V twin air cooled wisconsin engine..center hole is intake(siamesed) and outers exhaust..2 required for 1 engine...
the mccorl threw me but you could look that up by the part## on it...
prob the 32HP model......Gg

Someone knows their engines ;D Im still learning about engines and stuff like that, taking a class at school and its helping ID my finds :D Thanks a bunch for the ID, do you think the d is like misprinted, cause it looks more like an L.

It is asbestos :o :o :o This is from a site:

By the start of World War I, McCord Gasket Division (as it was then known) had supplied the original head gasket -- the first copper-clad/ millboard asbestos gasket in production -- for the Ford Motor Company's Model T.

Think ill keep this relic in a riker case and not handle it ;D

asbestos is still widely used in head gaskets and exhaust gaskets, some people over reacted on the whole asbestos danger thing, the most dangerous encounters with asbestos is when it is being removed from buildings, and when cleaning old brake shoes, like blowing the brake dust out with air. it is highly unlikely you will get cancer from that gasket, just don't try to clean the asbestos out.
