I found this at a 1800s site. Any idea? That hook look thingy part makes it look really old?

Conveyor Belt Meat Hook?

I think it is a sort of steel meat/beef processing hook. Was this by chance on a conveyer-like belt, maybe on a dairy farm?

At a early 1800s site.. a little ways from the homesite in a patch of iron.. The whole area is in the woods..

I like ticndig's suggestion, possibly the end of a scale weight, may have been used in a barn. :thumbsup:

Your site wouldn't have been in the woods 100+ years ago, the land would likely have been cleared and being farmed back then. :icon_scratch:
