Came across this ad on craigslist, anyone in the area?

HELP! Need to borrow metal detector--lost wedding ring in front yard! (Southwest Champaign)

Tonight my husband was playing catch with our 2 boys in the front yard and his wedding ring fell off. We know the general area that it landed in, but can't find it. Does anyone have a metal detector that we could use (or rent) to find this precious ring? It would be much appreciated.

You could advise them to go to one of the ring finder websites like classringfinder. com There's some registered members in that area I'm sure.

I will call them tomorrow. I have been wanting to go to Champaign and detect for a while but just never done it. So this would be a good excuse for me to go over there and do it. Hopefully they live in an old part of town and will let me detect the rest of their yard.

I called the couple and they said that they had the opportunity to borrow a metal detector from someone at their church and they have gone over their yard twice so far. They are going to give it anouther shot. they said that if they still need help and haven't located it they would get in touch with me.

Yard rings are a particular problem because this time of year many get picked up by rakes or leaf-clearing machines and go into the leaf bags along with cuttings. I once worked three days at a womans yard looking for a particular ring but had no luck. Probably gone in the mowing cycle because her low cut grass hid nothing.

Another case had a woman lose five rings and I knew that she had taken them off and set them somewhere but she denied that. After two weeks she found them in the jacket pocket in the back of her truck where she had put them before starting yard work that day. I had told her to check ALL clothing she wore prior to working on the yard but she insisted it couldn't be the case.
