Outstanding CajunPointHunter!

Beautiful. What's the story if the find?

An incredible piece....thanks for posting it.

:o Yikes! What an eye popper! Love the red right on the tip.

I'm not a point man! But Sir, I will compliment you and that one! Even I would have been proud to find that - and it would never be sold.

Nice cajun did you just find that one? What are typing it as? Nice serrations.

Very nice point. well made, good form, good condition, very nice.

Ok the story behind the point isn't nearly as spectacular as the point is! It begins with my full out obsession with collecting points and general Native American culture (going to a pow pow today). Now that my obsession is full tilt I can't seem to pass a cut over with out stopping to walk it. I have found some of my best sites that way.

Yesterday I found a fresh cut over with a nice creek running through it and two very nice sandy hills off the creek, looked to be a perfect place! Well about 10 minutes into my walk found that perfect point and not another flake, chip or sign of any type in the two hours that followed! I assume it was lost while hunting because no group seems to have camped there!

what a beauty to find in such a short time. A very impressive piece indeed!! congratulations!!

Sure is a pretty one! Very Nice! :icon_thumleft:

I'm wondering what this point would be typed as too---Seems like I've seen these referred to as "Caddo" points maybe?
Very nice find CajunPointHunter!

I'd call it a Bassett 800-400 BP.
Cool point.. sharp too.

Very nice. Love the color and serrations.

THAT IS AWESOME!!!

I can see why you would consider that your new favorite point. Thanks for sharing.

I tend to agree with Gator, but it could be a Steiner as well. The caddie nation was very close to where I live, a smaller less known sub group the caddie adai's settlements were mainly located about 15 miles from my home. But where I'm hunting right now is border land and possibly has Caddo, Natchez and Choctaw artifacts.

None of my points are ever for sale, they are worth more to me than any monetary value. Each one is attached to a great memory of a day well spent with friends and loved ones. They are also connected to the history of a great people who's culture I have come to know, respect, and admire. I spend quite a bit of money on my "hobby" and don't expect to see a dime in return but my meager collection and the passion that drives me to search just over the next hill makes me wealthy indeed.
