Maybe an Axe? IF it was an Axe - how was it attached? It may look like two pieces - only on piece with different views. Thanks for everyone's help.

Found about 5 inches below ground level (under tree roots) at base of tree.

It is wet (was cleaning mud, etc.)

That is simply the best graphic I have ever seen on this site. It's like a cad system for artifacts. I want that for my stuff but I have enough trouble inserting a pic in a thread without help. Cool axe head.

Thats all I need is one more hobby. I have to quit my job.
