✅ SOLVED Maybe an Axe?

Maybe an Axe? IF it was an Axe - how was it attached? It may look like two pieces - only on piece with different views. Thanks for everyone's help.

Found about 5 inches below ground level (under tree roots) at base of tree.

Top Down View (with measurements) and weighs in at 2lb 11oz
It is wet (was cleaning mud, etc.)

That is simply the best graphic I have ever seen on this site. It's like a cad system for artifacts. I want that for my stuff but I have enough trouble inserting a pic in a thread without help. Cool axe head.

Yep its a broken ax, ax head is made by folding steel and it comes together at the blade, part where handle goes through 1/2 of it broke off is all
