Hello All,
Just joined, first post here. I recently acquired at auction this piece sold as an "hacha" from Pre-Columbian Guatemala. In my research into "hachas", this piece does not have the flat form that other pieces do. It is the face with a tapering "tube" coming from the back. I'm almost thinking it's a piece that would fit into a hole in a wall. I'm wondering if anyone has any information that might help me know what this is and if it seems genuine.
This piece previously belonged to an instructor who with her husband was a world traveler back in the 1960s, and likely brought it back prior to 1968. She passed away at 96 years old and this was from her estate.
