Choose 1) any rock unit where the rock's age has been determined, and 2) an appropriate isotope systems used in radiometric dating of rocks. Calculate the ratio of parent and daughter isotopes in the rock (assume that the rock contained 100% parent isotopes when it was formed).
Ok, if I choose arkos (or any other type of rock), how do I then determine the age?
can anyone help me with number 2, math help on how you count it out for the rocktype Arkose?
