I was hunting down the road from a old stage coach stop at a home that was built by a founder of a local Whiskey Distillery in the 1800's.This place has a very big yard and i only hunted it one day.I dug several nice coins and other neat items, the first coin i actually dug was this 1934 silver half dollar that i am using for size reference for my "what is it" item.
This masonic artifact i believe is made of lead and was pretty darn deep.any info on this would be greatly appreiciated.

standard masonic "blue lodge" master mason type symbol -- what the item is used for no ideal. but it might be a "marker" to let other travelling masons know that a fellow mason lived there .

Not positive of course, but our Lodge, Vonore Number 658, Vonore TN, has some decorative "ornaments" on our apron cabinet, ect. that look similar, but I don't know what they are made of. Just a thought! Happy hunting and good luck!! Regards, Richard, P.M., Vonore Blue Lodge #658

the old tavern might have been a lodge --the old wealthy guy might have been a mason as well -- the item might be a marker of sorts letting traveling mason know they were at a "friendly" place if in need of help , aid or work
