So this happened..... I got a wild hair to drive over 3 hours east, to an area I’ve never been to, and join a treasure hunting club.
Glad I did!

I met a few guys, others I’ll get to know I’m sure. Each one of them were kind and welcoming....a far cry from coin clubs I’ve been in where the dudes are always shady, selfish, and creepy.
As soon as I arrived, Mike the President introduced himself, and made me feel welcome. Went on to tell me there is a seeded mini hunt before the meeting (me in my wife’s car with no detector), so I missed out on that. Also, more than enough pizza for everyone. Members had their best finds of the past month on display, some pretty wild stuff that I’d never seen before. Had no cash on me either, ( I suck)... so I missed out on the silver round raffle, 50/50, and the chance to buy some gear and swag.
The highlight for me was the door prize drawing.... My first Big Silver of the year!:headbang:
3 hours is a long drive, but once a month?.... I think I can handle that.
I’ve met new friends, and may be able to join in on some organized hunts.
So there it is, I’m $25 committed for the 2022 membership.

You go places without a detector? Crazy
My little Tacoma has no cruise control, her Subaru has all the options… but I should have thought to bring my toys with me.
I was truly disappointed in myself.

You'll be ready next time...understand not bringing your tools with to a first time visit to a detecting club.

I almost always take mine.
Not sure I care about seeded hunts.
I like being the first to find something
